 The Constitution Condones Slavery?

In a recent series called “The State Against Blacks,” John Stossel interviewed Rep. Charles Rangel and made the case that big government has failed the black American family. Congressman Rangel, an unabashed proponent of big government, asked Stossel, “What do you want? No government?” Stossel held up a copy of the Constitution and answered, “No. I want it this size again. The Constitution and the Declaration — great government right here.” To which Rangel responded, “No, that government will throw me back into slavery. You don’t want that government. Come on, now. I mean, they weren’t thinking about me when they wrote that book. I wasn’t even three-fifths of a guy. So let’s pass that book and say that it was a good beginning and it’s there to improve order and that’s what we’ve done.”

Rep. Rangel ought to be asked to explain how limiting the size and scope of the federal government to constitutional standards would throw him back into slavery. The idea is preposterous, but it’s clearly one that liberals like. Liberals are terrified at the rise of serious talk in America about going back to the principles of the Constitution, and I believe we will see Rangel’s invidious argument trotted out again and again. But the “Constitution was an instrument of slavery” argument will be effective for the liberals only if we are ignorant of the truth.

It should be understood that if the Founders had failed to organize the states into a union, slavery would have continued unabated — certainly in the South, and perhaps in the North as well. Once the conventional representatives decided to satisfy both the Northern and the Southern states with two houses of Congress, the question then became which “inhabitants” of each state would be counted for purposes of representation in the House of Representatives. The Northern states insisted that only free citizens of each state be counted for purposes of apportionment in the House. The Southern states, wanting to garner as much power and influence in the new government as possible, argued that all people within their borders, whether free or not, be counted for purposes of apportionment.

This was a deadly serious impasse. It must be said, however, that many of those representatives at the convention who owned slaves recognized that slavery would be a blot on the new nation and that it had to end. But it was also certain that if they tried to abolish slavery immediately with the Constitution, it would be rejected by the southern states, and the union would fail.

Two compromises were made.  First, the Southern states agreed to count only three-fifths of slaves.  In turn, the Northern states agreed to a clause prohibiting Congress from abolishing slavery for twenty years, until the year 1808.

Charles Rangel and many others argue that under the Constitution, a black man’s worth was only three-fifths of a white man.  But the Constitution says no such thing.  Article I, Section 2 reads (in part), “Representatives … shall be apportioned among the several states … according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons … three fifths of all other persons.”  “All other persons” referred to slaves.  In other words, only 60% of slaves could be counted for purposes of a state’s representation in the House.  That’s a far cry from arguing that the Constitution valued black men at three-fifths of a white man.  And what would Rangel and others have preferred — that all slaves be counted, thus increasing the power and influence of the slave states when the time came to vote to abolish slavery?  What if the Founders had allowed all slaves to be counted for purposes of representation in the House, thus eliminating the three-fifths compromise that so offends Rep. Rangel?  And then what if, because of increased slave state representation, the legislation to abolish slavery had failed in 1808?  Is that what Rangel would have preferred?

The result of these compromises was that a major obstacle to a union of the states and the establishment of the nation of America was overcome, and slavery as it was known in early America was eventually abolished.  It should also be pointed out that America, its flaws and imperfections notwithstanding, has become a beacon of individual liberty to the whole world.

We modern Americans allow ourselves a certain self-congratulatory pride because we think we are morally superior to the Americans of the eighteenth century. But let’s consider what it is we so smugly condemn them for. What is slavery? Is not slavery the idea that the fruit of a man’s labor is deemed not to be his own by the system of laws under which he is held in servitude, and that it is taken from him by those who have power and authority over him? When one adds up all the taxes and fees — local, state, and federal — that Charles Rangel and many other like-minded persons of power and authority have gradually imposed on us, we have certainly become a nation of slaves.

I don’t mean to suggest that there is equivalency between eighteenth-century slavery and slavery today. The slavery of two hundred fifty years ago was a hard slavery, while today’s slavery is much more subtle. Yet there it is: a large portion of the fruit of our labor today is taken from us by people like Charles Rangel, who then use those fruits to purchase the votes they need to keep themselves in power to rule and reign over us.

Liberals’ defense of today’s soft slavery is essentially the same as what the slave masters of the eighteenth century said: this is our system, and the economy depends upon it. But in truth, their own personal wealth and influence also depend on it.  In addition to legally confiscating large portions of the fruit of our labor, they control our compulsory education system.  They tell us how much water we can use to flush a toilet and what kind of light bulbs we must use. They have shut down vast reserves of our nation’s natural resources which we require for our energy needs, intentionally driving up the cost of energy.  They intend to disarm us.  They intend to tell us what doctors we can see and when. They insult and demean us in our airports. They seek to divide and inflame us by race and by economic status. They intervene in every aspect of our personal and business lives. They are destroying the value of our currency.

These are the soft, but ever-hardening, slave masters of the twenty-first century.  And sadly, most Americans seem to support this system.  We are a generation who self-righteously condemns the eighteenth-century American for the moat we see in his eye, all the while largely blinded to the beam in our own.

The Constitution is a framework for a government intended to protect the individual liberty of each citizen — his life, his liberty, and his property — from the encroachments of his neighbor. But the Constitution is an impediment to the slave masters, and they have no regard nor use for it. Remember that the next time you hear Charles Rangel, or anyone else, dismissing the Constitution as the antidote to our national decline.

As for this American, you can count me among the twenty-first-century abolitionists.

The false narrative is that the Tea Party is a bunch of stubborn nuts, if not outright racists. In truth, the Tea Party has been right about everything, while almost everyone else has been nuts, especially the “experts.”

Minimum wage. One of the first things Democrats did after taking back Congress in 2007 was raise the federal minimum wage 41% from 2007 to 2009. Result? The unemployment rate went from 4.4% in May 2007 to 10.1% in 2009. It is 9.2% even today — four years later.

As for teens, the unemployment rate went from 14.9% to 27.1%, the highest ever recorded, meaning since 1948. Today it is still a high 24.5%. And for blacks: from a low of 7.9% in 2007 to 16.5% in 2010. It is still a high 16.2%.

The Democrat Congress also decided to apply the same minimum wages to American Samoa. Results? Near-decimation of its economy, one that had been based largely on low-cost tuna canning and textile work.

… employment fell 19 percent from 2008 to 2009 … tuna canning employment fell 55 percent from 2009 to 2010… Average inflation-adjusted earnings fell by 5 percent from 2008 to 2009 and by 11 percent from 2006 to 2009.

Of course, some of the increase in unemployment was a result of the Great Recession. But the Employment Policies Institute did a study to separate the effects for the most vulnerable group: males aged 16-24 without high school diploma. EPI’s answer: the minimum wage increase killed over 100,000 jobs (31% of the lost jobs) for that demographic.

TARP. Unless you were a politician or executive of a large bank, you were likely against the Troubled Asset Relief Program.  I would guess that most anyone now calling herself a member of the Tea Party was against TARP in 2008. But Senator Barack Obama voted for it, along with most of his Democrat colleagues. Also the top brains of the Stupid Party pushed it: Henry Paulson, George W. Bush, and John McCain.

On October 3, 2008, Congress authorized Treasury Secretary Paulson to use up to 0 billion under TARP to do what was needed to stave off financial disaster. By December, after using 7B, Paulson said he was done, crisis averted. (Of course his successor, Tim Geithner, was not done.)

Here’s the funny thing: while Paulson was lending out less than .3 trillion, the Federal Reserve was lending out over T to do about the same thing!  By my calculations, Paulson’s TARP slush fund was less than 2% the size of the Federal Reserve’s.

Do you think that 2% was critical to staving off financial apocalypse? (FYI, over 3T of the Fed’s emergency loans were to subsidiaries of foreign-owned banks.)

When the dust cleared, the federal government owned two bankrupt car companies and the god-awful home mortgage portfolios of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — entities that had nothing to do with the original purpose of TARP.

Global markets were so enamored with TARP that there was an immediate sell-off of about 20% in global stock markets the moment it went into effect.  I also credit TARP, and McCain’s reaction to it, for McCain’s loss to Obama. Ever since, all budget discussions have involved units of trillions instead of mere billions. The world has not been the same since TARP.

Stimulus. Opposition to Obama’s stimulus was the origin of the Tea Party. Now we know the story.

How the stimulus was sold: It would create three million jobs or more. It would keep the unemployment rate under 8%, instead of 9% without a stimulus. It would cost 7B. The jobs were shovel-ready.

What really happened: There are 1.2 million fewer jobs now than when the stimulus was passed. Unemployment went over 10% (vs. prediction of 8%) and is still over 9% (vs. prediction of about 6.8% at this time). It cost 4B or more. Maybe 6% of it went to infrastructure projects. Obama’s reaction? A little joke: “Shovel ready was not as shovel ready as we expected.”

Of course, Obama and his minions simply blame this on their underestimating the size of the mess they inherited from Bush. But that has been studied by economists at the University of Western Ontario and Ohio State University. The verdict: the stimulus itself cost about one million private-sector jobs; the net job loss was about 595,000. We’d have been better off without any “stimulus” at all, just as the Tea Party said.

ObamaCare. ObamaCare was sold as a way to bend the health “cost curve” down.  As it turned out, it is bending the cost curve up — health care will be more costly than it would have been without ObamaCare. It’s so great that in its first year about 1,500 companies, states, and unions were granted waivers.

ObamaCare strangled the recovery in the crib. The private sector has been generating only 6,400 jobs per month since it was passed, compared to 67,600 before. We would never return to pre-recession unemployment levels at the current pace.  ObamaCare is costing us over 60,000 jobs per month.

Drilling moratorium. According to a new study by IHS Global Insight, merely picking up the pace in granting oil drilling permits would go a long way in producing jobs throughout the US, adding to GDP and reducing dependency on foreign oil sources.  In 2012 alone it could mean 230,000 new jobs, B more in GDP, 150 million more barrels of oil, and B less in imported oil.

Budgets. Now we find ourselves in another budget fight, with the Tea Party getting the blame from much of the media and liberal punditry. The truth is that Democrats have not even written, much less passed, a budget of any kind in over two years; they simply kill everyone else’s.

• The Republican-led House passed a budget on schedule in April.  Senate Democrats voted it down.
• Obama proposed a budget in February. The Congressional Budget Office scored it as having a 10-year cumulative deficit of .5 trillion. The Democrat-led Senate voted that down too, 97-0.

• The House proposed the only written plan for addressing the debt ceiling — the Cut, Cap and Balance plan.  Senate Democrats voted that down, too.

It shouldn’t take a keen insight to see that Senate Democrats are the “Party of No” and the obstacle to resolving budget and debt issues.

Uncertainty and arbitrariness. Just last December Obama said keeping Bush’s tax rates was critical to keeping the recovery going.  He and the Democrat Congress at the time extended them for another two years, plus added over 0 B in additional tax cuts and credits. Now, just seven months later, Obama insists that any deal to raise the debt ceiling must include tax increases.

Like ObamaCare, the Dodd-Frank bill to regulate all finance in the country is a thousand-page-plus piece of legislation.  As the New York Times understated it just after its passage, “[a] number of the details have been left for regulators to work out.” Got it? Those thousand-plus pages did not include the details.

The EPA now has power to regulate every use of fossil fuels in this country, as well as every breath we take, if they so deem.  What will it do with that power? You get to guess. If you think it wouldn’t do anything too stupid, know that the FDA just outlawed common inhalers for asthma sufferers. Their reason was, get this, those inhalers are blamed for contributing to upper-atmosphere ozone loss.

Even if you think CFCs contribute to ozone loss, how much do you think the CFCs released by asthma inhalers have to do with it?  And how much is the indirect and ambiguous loss of ozone worth compared to the direct and known suffering of asthma patients? Such is the wisdom of government regulators.

The list is endless. If you were thinking of starting a business or making an investment that might not pay off for five or ten years, would you feel like you know the rules and could depend on them? No, you’d hunker down, which is exactly what everyone with any money left is doing right now.

This jobless recovery is not some mystery. It is very clearly the result of decisions — decisions made by Obama and the Democrats.  At every opportunity they grew government, shrank the private sector, and viewed budding enterprises as little more than beasts of burden — something to whip while healthy and carve up and eat when not.

As Robert Mugabe viewed white-owned farms, Obama views corporations not yet in Chapter 11.

Nothing Democrats did helped; everything they did hurt. Everything. Min wage. TARP. Stimulus. ObamaCare. The Gulf oil spill. Every budget they ever proposed, written or not. Every little czar they put in place to spend other people’s money and to bully the only productive people still toiling away at the thankless tasks of making stuff and providing jobs.

At every point, the Tea Party and its sympathizers tried to stop these idiocies, only to be called ignorant racists. You might want to ask yourself why so many people talk of the “Tea Party,” whatever that is, the way Lenin and Stalin talked of kulaks and saboteurs, whoever they were.

Do “taxed enough already,” “stop spending,” and “obey the Constitution” sound that crazy to you? If so, you might want to think about why you think so.

Up until now, signs of any rank-and-file liberal Democratic “base” revolt against Obama have been few and far between. Perhaps that’s why a poll from CNN last week publicized as showing that liberals were the main source of his latest drop in approval ratings got more attention than a random survey normally captures.

After weeks of prolonged negotiations with Republicans around the federal debt and in the wake of the strong push back from Congressional Democrats against a ‘grand bargain’ to cut Soc. Sec. between the President and the House GOP leadership, a new CNN poll shows that support from the political left flank is starting to leave Obama.

President Obama registered an approval rating in line with other current polls, with 45% of the populace approving of his performance and 54% disapproving, slightly outside the TPM Poll Average of 45.0% approval and 50.1% disapproval.

But the troubling news for the President was within that approval number, where there is a growing number among his base who are disappointed: his rating among self-described liberals in the poll was only 71%, along with 80% self-IDed Democrats in the approval column.

From the CNN report:

“…drill down into that number and you’ll see signs of a stirring discontent on the left,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “Thirty-eight percent say they disapprove because President Obama has been too liberal, but 13 percent say they disapprove of Obama because he has not been liberal enough – nearly double what it was in May, when the question was last asked, and the first time that number has hit double digits in Obama’s presidency.”

It should also be noted that complaints of the President not being liberal enough were not just relegated to liberals themselves. 14% of self-described moderates who disapproved of Obama cited the same reason, and even 9% of conservatives.

Obama And His Cronies Provide Political Supporters In Chicago With Low Cost Internet And PCs.

If this isn’t blatant favoritism I don’t know what is.

As part of the White House’s deal to permit Comcast to buy NBC Universal, the government forced Comcast to promise to provide, according to Abby W. Schacter of the New York Post:

2.5 million low income households: (i) high-speed Internet access service for less than per month; (ii) personal computers, netbooks, or other computer equipment at a purchase price below 0; and (iii) an array of digital-literacy education opportunities.”

Who are the lucky beneficiaries among all the Americans who fit this category? Are you sitting down? Poor blacks in Obama’s hometown in Chicago are the ones getting the sweet deal. Is it also a coincidence that Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former Chief of Staff, was recently elected mayor and may need to boost his reputation among this same group of people, since he defeated a couple of the black candidates widely supported by them?

Of course, many of the key people in Obama’s White House also hail from the Windy City including the man who replaced Emanuel as the Chief of Staff, Bill Daley (brother of Chicago’s former mayor) and Valerie Jarrett, one of Obama’s oldest friends and advisers.

This sort of bullying is not uncommon in Cook County, one of the last Democrat-run city machines in the nation (wags call it Crook County for a reason). One hand washes the other there and rules are bent to favor political allies – the seeming modus operandi of Barack Obama on a national scale over the last few years.

Nor is race-based policy-making something that is unknown in the Obama administration. At the Federal Communications Commission Obama created something called the Chief Diversity Officer. The first person to hold this position is Mark Lloyd, who has a long record of advocating that blacks replace whites as executives in the broadcasting industry and as owners of media outlets to achieve racial fairness.

Were poor rural white kids in southern towns outside of Illinois even considered for such a sweet deal?

The global and domestic landscape is one of turmoil, indecision, and uncertainty. Everywhere one looks there is chaos and potential disaster, whether in the financial, economic, or political sphere. Since the beginning of the post-World War II era there has been one constant that has been the stabilizing force in the world: the stature, power, and influence of the United States. In a matter of a few short years the Obama presidency has deliberately and overwhelmingly eroded America’s pre-eminence, which has resulted in global instability and domestic unease.

Barack Obama assumed the office of the presidency as a man brought up and steeped in 1960’s radicalism, which advanced the doctrine that America, as the lone Western superpower, represented the evil nature of colonialism and capitalism’s exploitation of the masses – whether there was any truth in this assertion or that the United States was guilty of these sins was irrelevant. The material and military success of America and the West could only have come about from expropriating the wealth and labor of the peoples of the world.

This is a simplistic and emotional argument and one that refuses to take into account the basic nature of the human race and its failings and foibles. Mankind always has and always will have as its preeminent trait the need to survive, and to that end human beings are susceptible to committing crimes and exploiting their fellow man. Thus any society will always have many failings, but the key measure of any civilization is what it does to control those tendencies and strive for an equitable culture. No nation or culture in history has done more to advance the well-being of mankind than the United States and Western civilization.

However to the Marxist mindset of the radical left, only they, utilizing the vehicle of a massive central government, could control mankind’s nature and create a fair society. It is the ideal philosophy for those who, so enamored with themselves, can wallow in their self-importance and rule with a heavy hand the same masses they claim to protect. Under no circumstances, therefore, can these revolutionaries defend or profess admiration for their country; instead they must not only transform the United States into a villain, but destroy any vestiges of its accomplishments in order to permanently retain control over the populace and exact revenge for the alleged transgressions of the West.

Barack Obama has spent his entire life, from birth to the present, marinated in this mindset. He is thus incapable of change or being receptive to any other viewpoint, as that would be an admission of failure. His chief concern is himself, the retention and expansion of government power as well as the plight of the third world, rather than the suffering of the average American citizen facing economic and societal ruin.

He and his fellow-travelers can thus justify bankrupting the country as a necessary part of the remaking and absolution of the United States. He can show disdain and at times outright hostility toward age-old European allies who were, in his mind, the original sinners in the exploitation of the downtrodden. He has no compunction in forcing Israel, as an outpost of Western civilization, to compromise and bend to all the demands of the Palestinians. To Barack Obama there is no overriding American interest in virtually all foreign matters except to take a back seat and surrender its influence to other mainly non-Western powers.

He continues to pursue many of George Bush’s policies against terrorism and the war in Afghanistan, while taking steps designed to assure America does not win the conflict in the long-term. His short-term goal is to be certain a terrorist attack within the United States does not occur in the next two years as that would doom his re-election chances and put in jeopardy his agenda. Meanwhile he willingly discards old allies in the Middle East while turning a blind eye and tacitly promoting the radicalization of many countries in the region.

He relies on his ego-driven messianic demeanor and skin color to intimidate both domestic political adversaries and international allies, while believing the same traits will cause those in the non-Western world to view him as their savior.

It is now inarguable that the 1980’s were the high-water mark of competent and viable American international leadership in the post-World War II era. Today, during the Obama years, the international scene is led by arguably the least competent and most easily intimidated, as the majority of world leaders consist of those whose principal interests are themselves and the trappings of office. They are unwilling or unable to challenge the ruinous economic and foreign policies of President Obama and they fail to understand that the United States, under his leadership, will no longer be the leader of the free world but will instead be just another socialist member of the global community while atoning for its supposed sins of the past.

There are no world leaders, with one or two exceptions, willing to look Barack Obama as well as their own citizens in the eye and tell them the unadulterated truth, as they are incapable of handling the truth themselves, much less knowing what to do about the situations and dilemmas at hand. They react instead with futile collectivist theories promulgated by self-proclaimed and egocentric intellectuals who themselves have no worldly experience.

The financial dilemma in Europe continues on, and will fester until the European Union collapses, as those in charge remain adamant in their failed strategy of bailouts and subsidies – a collapse, together with ruinous American fiscal and monetary policy, that will trigger another worldwide financial crisis.

Many global leaders are enamored with and dote on the terms democracy and self-determination in the Middle East and the rest of the world. However, people do not aspire to self-determination as an end in itself; they aspire to the freedom and prosperity that democracy can potentially bring about.  Thus, these same heads of state are helping overthrow governments in nations once allied with the West because of a sophomoric and naïve adherence to mere words and a concurrent unwillingness to understand who is behind the “democracy movements and self-determination.”  This disastrous scenario has been repeated constantly over the past century.

The most insidious trait of the worlds so-called “best and brightest” is their naiveté and inability to admit their mistakes. Until today’s narcissistic global ruling class, particularly in America, are replaced by those willing to face reality and act accordingly, the world will continue to become an increasingly dangerous place.

Unfortunately there is, currently, a president who does not believe in American Exceptionalism and is determined to allow chaos, both domestic and international, to metastasize and change the United States and world forever. This mindset, combined with a lack of forceful leaders of other nations, will result in another financial catastrophe, the rise of a hegemonic China, an inevitable military conflict in the Middle East, and the spread of radical Islam. The ultimate goal of the fall of Western civilization will then be realized, but at a massive and bloody cost. The handwriting is on the wall; will anyone pay attention?

When he first entered the national political arena, I thought Barack Obama was a sincere man, mistaken in his political beliefs, but an honest advocate of them. Today, like millions of Americans, my evaluation of Barack Obama would be quite different.

Without attempting to go over every policy, speech, and embarrassment to explain what is wrong with the man, I might just sum it up the way that many parents do when teaching their sons and daughters about right and wrong. “Obama,” I would say, “is a bad man.”

What people do matters. But, who they are determines their behavior. Who they are will express itself in what they do on a consistent, regular basis.

As human beings we all make mistakes. We sin. But, people who are bad make a lifelong, regular habit out of it and have very little, if any, sense of remorse. Actually, they rather enjoy it. There’s a sense of autonomy, self-determination, and blazing one’s own path that seems to thrive in a person who recognizes no rules but his/her own and no authority other than the desires of his/her own heart.

In his book, People of the Lie, M. Scott Peck tackles a problem that most psychiatrists and therapists avoid. The problem is bad people, or as Peck describes the issue, “evil.” Peck concludes that evil people are outside the norm of healthy, human behavior, but they’re not crazy or delusional. They’re quite sane, which makes them all the more terrifying. They are dysfunctional members of society. In a nutshell, bad people lack two critical human characteristics that the rest of us share and admire.

#1. They lack Honesty. They lie.

Most people lie to prevent embarrassment or to cover an error. It’s not a way of life. Bad people lie all the time and about almost everything. It’s purposeful and automatic. It’s part of who they are. It’s how they live, it’s how they function, and it’s how they manipulate, gain advantage, and achieve success. They lie with reckless abandon and they are really good at it. Mix a little truth into a lie, add some well-contrived sincerity, and it’s instantly believable.

We’ve all met people like this. Something about them sets off alarms in our intuitive brain. We don’t know why, but we know they’re lying and we’re being deceived. If asked to repeat what the lie was, it would be tough to nail down. Bad people are really, really good liars. If challenged, they will back-pedal and change their story until they can find solid ground to stand on which cannot be questioned or refuted. Victory. Trained therapists have a difficult time divining truth from fiction when faced with such a person whose very identity is rooted in half-truths. A common way of referring to these bad people is that they are “like nailing jello to the wall.” It’s almost impossible to pin them down.

#2. They lack Empathy.

Empathy is the ability to put one’s self in the shoes of another, even if only for a moment. To be a good person, empathy is required. It is the essential ingredient in humanity and is deeply embedded in our culture. Americans care. We care because we have empathy. It’s in our national DNA. It’s in our religious texts. We teach it to our children every day and we gladly help others when we’re able because it’s the right thing to do.

Bad people view empathy as a weakness to be exploited. But, they do care about themselves. A lot. Passionately. They  are the “Me Generation” on steroids. Spouses, children, and friends don’t matter. Not really. They’re valued only to the extent that they can provide support, praise, honor, and adulation. Bad people live for that. If they cannot garner praise and adoration from their reluctant relatives, it’s just as satisfying to intimidate, control, and manipulate them. The ability to instill fear in others is a powerful narcotic to their warped sensitivities. Bad people use and abuse others. They feed off of the insecurities of others and exploit their vulnerabilities. If the targets of their exploitation refuse to show fear or admiration they will be abandoned, family and friends included, with a shocking coldness. The unfortunate souls who find themselves living with these monsters will often develop significant mental, emotional, and physical symptoms. It is a horrific nightmare.

Bad people come to us as sweetness and light, charming, intelligent, confident, and often successful. But, they are chameleons who will say whatever is necessary in order to get what they want and do what they may. No truth. No empathy. No soul. Shape-shifting through life they reinvent themselves to suit their audience so as to be everything to everyone. Inside, they are soulless. Alone. Scared. Afraid of being found out and exposed as a fraud. Their fragile self-image hides behind a facade of confidence, humor, and “I’m above it all.” Hence, they appear arrogant, haughty, and cannot bear scorn or reproach.

Barack Obama is one of these bad people. He’s dishonest, narcissistic, and pinning him down can be like nailing jello to the wall. He’s all things to all people, but he is no one – an empty vessel. He uses people and then disposes of them when it’s expedient. His grandmother, his spiritual mentor, anyone who becomes an inconvenience is thrown under the now infamous bus. He is adept at mockery and ridicule. His arrogance is legendary. His skin is decidedly thin and he cannot bear to be contradicted or challenged. He works, not for the American People but, for himself. 

Obama’s presidency is a lot like Obama. It’s all about him. His needs. His wants. The nation’s crises can’t compete with his love of golf, parties, or globe-trotting vacations. After all, in his mind, he deserves these creature comforts. Despite his appearance of confidence, Obama’s is an empty soul in search of fulfillment. The salve for his wounded heart is the acquisition of raw power. Power that is unimpeded, unopposed, and subject only to the capricious whims of a self-conscious, adolescent boy housed in a middle-aged man’s body. Nothing less will do.

Fortunately for us, there’s an election in 2012. Unfortunately, there are still Americans willing to reelect this alien that inhabits the White House. They need to know who he really is. Someone needs to tell them just like their mom and dad used to. Someone needs to help them understand.

To all Obama supporters:

America is depending on you, the electorate, to do the right thing. When you vote on November 6th, 2012, please do so carefully. Consider your country. Resist the temptation to vote the party line. America is in trouble and needs a president who believes in America and values Americans. Remember this as you choose your candidate:

Barack Obama is a bad man. A very bad man indeed.

A former Cameron County Judge is seeking to become the Lone Star State’s top Democrat when Boyd Richie, the current Texas Democratic Party Chair, leaves office next year.

Brownsville-based attorney Gilberto Hinojosa last month filed the necessary papers with the Texas Ethics Commissions to become an official candidate for Chair of the Texas Democratic Party.

The next Texas Democratic Party Chair will be elected in 2012. Boyd Richie announced at a State Democratic Executive Committee meeting in April that he would not seek re-election in 2012.

Hinojosa is currently the party chair for Cameron County and has climbed the ranks in state party circles. Hinojosa named Houston Attorney Cris Feldman treasurer for his Texas Democratic Party Chair campaign. It was Feldman who sued the treasurer of Texans for a Republican Majority on behalf of four Democratic House candidates who were defeated in the 2002 election with the help of “clandestinely funneled illegal corporate cash into the [Texas] elections” by then House majority leader Tom DeLay and his aides. In a 2010 trial DeLay was found guilty on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering in the scheme to illegally funnel corporate cash to Texas Republican candidates running in the 2002 election.

Let us contemplate and savor the last few years as we roll toward the ‘theatre of the Absurd’ 2012 Presidential race. What are the priorities of the Obama administration and do they have anything to do with serving America and building her up?

First of all, the wars – Libya.

Rather than find a clear and honorable way to conclude the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after 10 years of clearing out Islamic terrorists, watching thousands of our troops die and building infrastructure, Obama bypasses congress completely, rushes to the ‘international and Muslim influenced’ UN for leadership and rushes the U.S. into a 3rd war, in Libya.

Remember, when this started in, Gadaffi hadn’t attacked America and wasn’t at war with our allies. They were having a civil war, a war between extremist groups. It was soon revealed that the ‘freedom fighters’ he was taking on were only linked with Al Kaeda. They also wanted freedom from Gaddaffi. Now, does that mean America jumps into the middle of their war and starts shooting missiles and spending hundreds of millions? Apparently with Obama it does, while he pretends to be Mother Theresa in all this.

In the beginning of this Libyan disaster, ‘Operation Unified Protector’ we were spending 100 million a day lobbing missiles through Libya. Only this week the Pentagon is admitting that the war costs are soaring. Gee, what a shock. Even though we are working under NATO, as usual the US is doing most of the work and spending most of the money. You do the math! We are doing 70% of the reconnaissance missions and 75% of refueling flights. According to the Pentagon’s numbers, the military has shot off 228 missiles by May at 1.5 million a piece in expense. Any money left for coffee?

The Department of Defense has confirmed that Libyan military operations have cost American tax payers 4,000,000 so far. The bottom line is that this war will be a bottomless hole of billions spent. . . again. This time with no approval and support of congress and the America people. Our military is the absolute best and bravest in the world AND this war is a waste of money, talent our military and a complete sham.

Regarding the other wars, Iraq and Afghanistan

We have spent hundreds of billions taking on Islamic radicals and helping to stabilize new Government structures in Afghanistan and Iraq. Bravo to our amazing troops! There will never be a perfect Government situation in each country. Their military and leadership core is not always functioning right, but, they are functioning and can survive now.

It is time to create a 6 month time line to bring our heroic troops home and leave Iraqi and Afghanistan leadership to stand on their own. This can work for them and the US but we have to finally get clear with Islamic radicalism and fundamentalism here and through out the Middle East with our message. Our political correctness and dependency on OPEC oil is getting us killed and playing entirely into Muslim radical’s hands.

We need a loud, clear and very public policy shouted at the roof tops to Islamic leaders around the world, Iran, Syria, Hamas, Fatah, Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey et al. . .

“Regardless of what branch of Islam or Islamic expression you identify with, if you attack an American or her alleys in the U.S. or abroad, we will quickly find you and hold you accountable. There will be no discussion with the UN, Islamic leaders, OPEC or Media. Those who strike America and her allies, especially Israel, will find themselves destroyed.”

We must also let Islamic leadership know that any attack on Israel will be a bold attack on the US and be prepared for harsh and swift retaliation by the US not just Israel.

Back to bringing our troops home.

Our country has contributed for 10 years to wiping out Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan.. Islamic radicals who want a world wide Caliphate are peppered throughout all the Islamic countries. We can’t be at war everywhere, so what do we do then? As I said before. We have a VERY CLEAR message as to the swift cost of striking America, her allies and interests. We build up the strongest military in the world again. We undo the stupid, START treaty with Russia, build up our military budget and research, while, boldly making the U.S. military number one in every area. We can walk softly, with compassion and honor, BUT WITH ALL THE EVIL AND RADICAL MISSION OF MUCH OF ISLAM WE MUST CARRY A BIGGER STICK. . . AND BE READY TO USE IT.

We have seen the hundreds of billions wasted in wars but what about jobs and our economy.

Where are the jobs President Obama?

Obama takes credit for creating 2 million jobs the last few years. There were some temporary census worker type jobs, but 2 million??? That figure makes the old classic TV show, Fantasy Island, look real. The truth is, our economy is plunging back into a double dip recession. Jobless numbers are going higher. Foreclosures are increasing and home values going lower. Our economy is very sick and tilting. Whose fault is it now Obama? President Bush again? Perhaps, Sarah Palin caused it by shooting a Moose in Alaska somewhere.

The bottom line is that if Obama actually gave a damn about our country he would have made it a quick priority to pursue energy independence and approve the hundreds of energy projects waiting for years for his ‘on high’ approval to start in. He would have shown leadership in this area and a quick way to get unhitched and independent from OPEC. Obama would have been rapidly building natural gas infrastructure, creating affordable options with how to fill up our tanks. But no….remember, Obama said he was looking forward to 4 and 5 dollar a gallon gas. I don’t know anyone else in America who likes it!!!

In 2012 America must put American priorities back at her helm.

Tax overhaul and massive relieve for all:

1. Total energy independence from OPEC.

2. Stop talking about it and secure all our borders. Stop the 200 billion a year drug flow, illegal aliens from around the world pouring across our borders. Deal, compassionately, yet realistically with those already here.

3. Court U.S. manufacturing back from around the world by reigning in the ‘unholy Trinity’ regulation, taxation and litigation. Allow freedom to build business again.

4. Repeal and destroy the unconstitutional Health care bill.

5. Create real jobs by the millions by creating massive energy infrastructure projects, road and bridge improvement projects in all 50 states.

6. Take a real, consistent and bold stand against Islamic radicalism and other enemies to America and her allies.

In 2012 we must put courage, integrity, Americanism, Godliness and common sense back in the White House. Our freedom and country depends on it…..NO, the world depends on it.
