Rush Limbaugh is The Lead Republican in America

Sunday, March 18th, 2012

Rush picks the direction for the Republican Party and the whole GOP follows his direction.     There are no republicans with the strength or dignity to stand against or correct Rush Limbaugh.

RUSH Blows a lot of Smoke

No matter what he says, even if he calls your daughter or wife or grand daughter or any woman a slut or a prostitute republicans zip their lip and say nothing.     What cowards you are!
The Bigger The Cigar The Better

Rush can slap your grandmother back into yesterday and you republican cowards stand silent.     Now you want to run the country, God Help Us.

ACVDN

Rush Limbaugh called the woman who was denied the right to speak at a controversial contraception hearing a “slut” on Wednesday.

Rush makes a living being crude.     Why do you listen?

Sandra Fluke, a student at Georgetown Law School, was supposed to be the Democratic witness at a Congressional hearing about the Obama administration’s contraception policy.    However, Darrell Issa, the committee chair at the hearing, prevented her from speaking, while only allowing a series of men to testify about the policy.   Fluke eventually spoke to a Democratic hearing, and talked about the need for birth control for both reproductive and broader medical reasons.    She mentioned in particular a friend of hers who needed contraception to prevent the growth of cysts.

ACVDN

To Limbaugh, though, Fluke was just promoting casual sex.

Thanks for making me rich!!!

“Can you imagine if you were her parents how proud…you would be?”   he said.    “Your daughter … testifies she’s having so much sex she can’t afford her own birth control pills and she wants President Obama to provide them, or the Pope.”

“What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her?    It makes her a slut, right?    It makes her a prostitute.    She wants to be paid to have sex.     She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex.”

ACVDN

Limbaugh then said,  “ok, so she’s not a slut. She’s round-heeled.” “Round-heeled” is an old-fashioned term for promiscuity.

                                                      A Face Made for Radio
Limbaugh’s comments came on the same day that Fluke was mentioned during a debate in the Senate about the so-called   “Blunt Amendment,”   which would override Obama’s contraception rule. Sen. Barbara Boxer brought up Fluke’s testimony, recounting what she would have said at the Congressional panel if she had been given the opportunity.

ACVDN

First he called her a  “slut”  and a  “prostitute.”    Then added,  “So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal.    If we are going to pay for your contraceptives … We want something for it.     We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

How Low Will Republicans Allow Rush Limbaugh to Drag America in their Endless Quest of Partisanship?
Rush Limbaugh: I’ll Buy Georgetown Women ‘As Much Aspirin To Put Between Their Knees As They Want’

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh drew sharp criticism from Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) and others on Wednesday when he called Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown University law student, a “slut” and a “prostitute” for publicly advocating that employers cover contraception in their health plans.    But instead of apologizing for his offensive comments on his show Thursday, he geared up for round two.

Channeling Foster Friess, a main financial backer of former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), Limbaugh said that he would “happily buy [Sandra Fluke] all the aspirin she wants” to put between her knees in lieu of contraception.
He then expanded his offer to the whole university:
“A Georgetown coed told Nancy Pelosi’s hearing that the women in her law school program are having so much sex they’re going broke, so you and I should have to pay for their birth control.    So what would you call that?    I called it what it is,” he said.     “So, I’m offering a compromise today:     I will buy all of the women at Georgetown University as much aspirin to put between their knees as they want.”
Limbaugh, of course, was referencing the controversial comment Friess made in February, when he referenced the “gals” in “his day” who put aspirin between their knees in lieu of using contraception.
Fluke’s testimony in the hearing was not, as Limbaugh claimed, about the fact that she’s “having so much sex she’s going broke buying contraceptives.”     She told the story of her friend who had an ovary removed because the insurance company wouldn’t cover the prescription birth control she needed to stop the growth of ovarian cysts.
Limbaugh concluded his sexist rant by insisting that if women want their contraception covered, they should post pornographic videos of themselves online.     “So Miss Fluke and the rest of you feminazis, here’s the deal,” he said.     “If we are going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something.     We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which has raised a significant amount of money and gained support in the wake of the recent battles over birth control, circulated a petition on Thursday to ask Republican leaders to denounce Limbaugh’s tirade.

“Rush Limbaugh has come to Republicans’ defense in their war on women,” said Jesse Ferguson, a spokesperson for the DCCC, “but now the real question is whether Republicans are willing to stand up to him and his repulsive attacks on women.”

UPDATE:. — More than 75 Democratic lawmakers signed a letter to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday expressing outrage over Limbaugh’s comments.

“On his February 29, 2012 show, Mr. Limbaugh repeatedly used sexually charged, patently offensive, and obscene language to malign the character of this courageous young woman who has chosen to be the voice for many of her peers,” the letter says.   “This kind of direct attack on a private citizen is unacceptable.    Mr. Limbaugh is as free as any American to speak his mind about the political and social issues of our time, but using his radio show as a means for blatantly insulting a hard-working American with obscene and indecent language because he disagrees with her personal choices is an abuse of the public airwaves.”

UPDATE: 4:15 p.m. — Sandra Fluke responded to Limbaugh’s comments in a statement on Thursday.

“I thank the thousands of women and men, including members of Congress, Georgetown University students and faculty, and total strangers of all political stripes across the country who have offered kind words and support following recent egregious personal attacks,” she said.    “We are fortunate to live in a democracy where everyone is entitled to their own opinions regarding legitimate policy differences.     Unfortunately, numerous commentators have gone far beyond the acceptable bounds of civil discourse.     No woman deserves to be disrespected in this manner.     This language is an attack on all women, and has been used throughout history to silence our voices.     The millions of American women who have and will continue to speak out in support of women’s health care and access to contraception prove that we will not be silenced.”

Advertisers Drop Rush Limbaugh After He Calls Woman “Slut” On Air

Several advertisers have pulled ads from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show after he called a woman a “slut” and “prostitute” on air Wednesday and suggested that she film her sex acts and put them online.     Activists Twitter-bombed Rush’s advertisers, threatening a boycott, and so far two sponsors — mattress stores Sleep Train and Sleep Number — have responded, promising they will cut off the dough.
Rush’s vile comments were directed at Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Univeristy law student who was refused an opportunity to speak as a witness on the all-male sausagefest to the House Oversight Committee about birth control in health care reform.
Fluke was later given an opportunity to speak at a separate, unofficial hearing organized by Democrats.    She explained how Georgetown is a Catholic university and its health insurance plan does not cover contraception, so students pay up to ,000 annually out-of-pocket for their birth control.     Fluke’s testimony was meant to underscore how the religiously-affiliated employers who balk at the new rules regarding preventative health care coverage under Obama’s health care reform will actually affect people.     (Some background reading for those of who who haven’t been following this:   religious employers are not required to cover birth control;   the insurers used by religiously-affiliated employers must pick up the cost if the employers refuse. )
Rush jumped on the anti-birth control bandwagon which says mandating insurance coverage of birth control as preventative health care is paying for other people to have sex.     He said:

“Can you imagine if you were her parents how proud … you would be?     Your daughter … testifies she’s having so much sex she can’t afford her own birth control pills and she wants President Obama to provide them, or the Pope. … What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her?     It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute.     She wants to be paid to have sex.     She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception.     She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex.” … If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it.     We want you post the videos online so we can all watch.”

Yeah. Wow.

Several other advertisers that were tweet-bombed indicated Rush Limbaugh’s show might be losing their ad dollars, too.

Advertiser ProFlowers tweeted today,     “Rest assured, your feedback is heard.     We heard about the comments and we will reevaluate our marketing plan.”    Another tweet read,  “We would like to assure you that we do not endorse the views expressed by Russ Limbaugh.     We understand your concerns and value your feedback.”

The dating site eHarmony also tweeted today, but did not know they had ads airing during Rush’s show:   “We’ve never paid for ads on Limbaugh.     We’re looking into the matter of “network buys” and will let you know what we discover.”

Georgetown Law School, the president of Georgetown and the actual president have come to Sandra Fluke’s defense.    The law school’s statement read:

“Ms. Fluke has had the courage to publicly defend and advocate for her beliefs about an important issue of widespread concern.    She has done so with passion and intelligence.     And she has been rewarded with the basest sort of name-calling and vilification, words that aim only to belittle and intimidate.”
Georgetown’s President John DeGioia sent a campus-wide email this morning calling Limbaugh’s   “behavior that can only be described as misogynistic, vitriolic, and a misrepresentation of the position of our student.”     Also today, President Obama called Sandra Fluke, thanks her for speaking out, and said “to tell my parents that they should be proud.”     And Fluke herself is remarkably poised during all this, telling MSNBC’s Ed Schultz she was “stunned” but realizes “this is, historically, the kind of language that is used to silence women.”     Which is so true.
As for Rush Limbaugh himself?     He’s still on his show, yapping away about feminism.     He has not apologized

Bye-Bye Advertising Dollars

Whenever any media personality makes an offensive or controversial comment — as radio host Rush Limbaugh did when he referred to Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke as a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her testimony about women’s access to birth control — the question that soon arises is whether it’ll come back to hit him where it hurts most:    the wallet.

As Business Insider reports today, some advertisers for Limbaugh’s widely syndicated radio program are either pulling their funding or reevaluating where their ad dollars are being spent.

RELATED: Georgetown Student Sandra Fluke Responds To Being Called ‘Slut,’ ‘Prostitute’ By Limbaugh
Sleep Train Mattress (“the largest mattress retailer on the West Coast”), for one, has announced via Twitter that it is pulling its ads from the show:

ProFlowers, meanwhile, is now rethinking its marketing plan in the wake of Limbaugh’s remarks.    The company has been responding to concerns on Twitter, telling concerned commenters that “Your concerns affect how we manage dealing with our advertising partners,”     “We understand your concerns and I will ensure that your feedback is communicated to the producers of that show,”  and “We would like to assure you that we do not endorse the views expressed by Rush Limbaugh and we appreciate your feedback.”
And other advertisers have been bombarded with feedback from concerned and enraged commenters — despite not advertising on Limbaugh’s show.

Here is a partial list of Rush Limbaugh’s sponsors.     Please call them and tell them what you think about Rush calling women who use contraceptives, ‘sluts’ and ‘prostitutes’.     It is time to get hate speech like this off of the public airwaves, off of OUR, as in the taxpayer’s, airwaves.
At the end of the advertisers is how to get in touch with the FCC to lodge a complaint.

I believe in free speech. I also believe there needs to be some boundaries;    especially since Rush serves at the public’s pleasure since we own his airwaves and he is getting them for FREE.    Our government is sponsoring his hate speech and it needs to stop.

All of Rush’s wives, according to his own words, are sluts since he has no spawn.

Ted Nugent, Fox News Celebrity

60′s Rocker and Druggie Endorses Mitt

Musician Ted Nugent has endorsed Mitt Romney, according to a tweet from him Friday. Nugent claimed that he spoke with the former Massachusetts governor on the phone.

Mitt was not Ted’s first choice but Rick Perry and Herman Cain dropped out so he held his nose and chose Romney.

“[A]fter a long heart&soul conversation with Mitt Romney today I concluded this goodman will properly represent we the people & I endorsed him,” reads the tweet.

Romney is getting all the big endorsements

The rocker has a history of making incendiary remarks toward Democratic politicians and vocally supporting Republican ones. Nugent once threatened the lives of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in a rant on stage. He also lavished praise on Sarah Palin in a Time magazine piece.

If you don’t know or remember Nugent don’t feel bad, only regular viewers of Fox Noise have seen him this century.

Sen. Patrick Leahy Voices His Support For Kony 2012

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

A veteran Democratic senator has put his weight behind the surging online Kony 2012 phenomenon.

A key U.S. senator voiced his support for Kony 2012, the online video which portrays atrocities committed by a Ugandan warlord and has become a celebrity-fueled viral Internet cause.

Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy visited Champlain College in his home state of Vermont Monday, to praise the role of students there in the Kony 2012 movement, which seeks the capture of Joseph Kony, a brutal warlord who has forced young boys to serve in his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), and young girls into sexual servitude.

The under-30-minute video, produced by the nonprofit organization Invisible Children, reportedly has been watched by more than 70 million people. Celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey and Justin Bieber, have been pushing attention to Kony 2012 in recent days.

“I am very pleased to be part of this effort to highlight the atrocities of the Lord’s Resistance Army, and I congratulate the Champlain students who have taken the initiative to educate other students and the entire community,” says Leahy, who long has focused on human-rights issues.

Kony’s LRA has terrorized the people of northern Uganda, the Congo, and elsewhere in Central Africa, for more than 20 years, Leahy notes. Thousands of people have been uprooted from their homes, children have been kidnapped and forced to kill and mutilate members of their own families, he adds.

“Over a decade ago I sent one of my staff to northern Uganda to meet with people who had been displaced and victimized by the LRA,” the senator, who chairs a Senate subcommittee which controls spending of the State Department foreign operations. “He visited some of the tens of thousands of children known as ‘nightwalkers’ who walked every evening, for as much as two hours, from their rural villages to shelters in town where they were protected from abduction by the LRA.

“For too long, this savage brutality received too little attention, as had the need for additional efforts by the United States and others to bring the LRA’s leader, Joseph Kony, to justice and to aid the victims,” Leahy adds.

U.S. Government Already After Kony

While Kony 2012 is the first introduction many around the world may have had to the thuggish Kony, he is no stranger to the U.S. government, according to Leahy.

Congress approved the the “LRA Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act,” in 2010, which Leahy calls “a real breakthrough.” Leahy adds that his Senate subcommittee included “up to million” to begin implementing the law, “and I plan to include additional funds this year.

“I also strongly support legislation, introduced by Representative Ed Royce of California, to offer rewards for information that leads to the capture of Kony and other LRA commanders. We should pass it this year,” Leahy says.

President Obama also deserves credit for developing a “Strategic Plan to Support the Disarmament of the LRA,” and deploying 100 U.S. military advisors to help capture Kony, Leahy says.

“He did that over the objections of some Members of Congress who felt it was not a priority –- some of the same people who voted to spend billions of dollars to send hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops to Iraq,” he says. “So there is progress, and students like you have been pushing and pushing – writing letters, lobbying Congress, raising money, doing everything you can to bring more attention to Joseph Kony and his child victims, to stop the LRA.”

The Faux Outrage of Greta Van Sufferance

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

UPDATE: Looks like fake hate wins the day “Vulgar Comedian Louis C.K. Bounced From Media Dinner” which is linked at the article below, possibly from AP, possibly from Fox News, and, as a result, possibly not credible. UPDATED UPDATE: Well, the legitimate news operations are reporting the Louis C.K. “withdrew” from the event, although the Faux headline is probably closer to the truth. (Well, not the “vulgar” part, which is, at best, the pot lecturing the kettle.)

Greta has her panties in a bunch over Gloria Allred having her panties in a bunch over what Rush did, so Greta’s going to boycott the Correspondents’ dinner because the comedian said some bad word s… I am not making this up.

There’s nothing so hilarious as a “principled” stand against bigotry and intolerance by a bigot.

Her dudgeon is high, her umbrage is great

I speak, of course, of Greta Van Susteren’s “principled stance” of boycotting the Radio and Television Correspondents’ dinner in Washington, D.C. because the entertainer, Louis C.K. “offends” her delicate sensibilities and high moral and ethical standards.

This hate merchant, who works for the blatantly biased, lowest-common-denominator prurient-porn channel*, Faux Nooz™? Seriously? Ah, read and weep (or, at least don’t drink liquid while so doing, out of compassion for your nose):

I refuse to go to the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner – no one should go

[* Or didn't you notice the months that they had "HOT FOR TEACHER" on a sidebar, with videos of every female teacher accused of having sex with a student. Murdoch will sell as much prurience as the law allows, and then have his mouthpieces inveigh as pretentiously and pompously on morality as the public stomach will take.]

Yes. Greta Van Sufferance– who will undoubtedly find, at the end, that while the price she thought she was getting for her soul was extremely generous, it will seem to have been purchased at Filene’s Basement discount bargain prices — Greta is taking a “moral” and “principled” stand against a comedian who has offended her in performances she has undoubtedly never attended, as cover for an outrage she feigns to distract attention from the indefensible actions of Rush Limbaugh last week …

Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott.*

Oh Gloria…. Yes, Gloria [Allred*] gets credit for being a trail blazer on women’s rights over decades but some times Gloria goes off the deep end. This time…she is going off the deep end…way off the deep end. Gloria is being goofy and making matters worse.

We sure don’t need that. She is making women look silly and weak – not strong about serious issues. This is not a game and she is trying to make it one. When things go haywire, we need to be smart how to handle them. We need to stop the bad things and turn things around. We need to set strong examples.

That is not what she is doing – she is unfortunately doing the opposite. She is engaging in a stunt that fuels people to take sides rather than to examine issues and work on solutions.Yes, Gloria’s stunt below is toxic – just stirring up trouble. She knows better. She needs to stop it. Now. —

[no indication where this news report came from, AP? UPI? FAUX? and yes, it's all in BOLDFACE - albeit sans-serif]

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A high-profile attorney is calling for Rush Limbaugh to be prosecuted for calling a college student a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his radio show.

Gloria Allred sent a letter to the Palm Beach County Attorney’s Office saying an obscure defamation statute should be used against Limbaugh. That law says it’s a misdemeanor to falsely and maliciously question a woman’s chastity.

In an interview Friday, Allred said Limbaugh “should have to bear the consequences of his extremely outrageous” conduct.

Limbaugh lives on Palm Beach and broadcasts his nationally syndicated show from there. The county attorney’s office doesn’t handle criminal matters and forwarded the letter to the state attorney for Palm Beach County, who had no immediate comment.

A representative for Limbaugh did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment.

In other words, this whole “stunt” is to make the war about all men versus all women, as they made the 9-11 attacks into all Arabs and all Muslims (remember the “Ground Zero Mosque” that this bigoted “correspondent” helped to flame the fans of?).

Showing that American “tolerance”

But women aren’t stupid, as Greta implies that they are with her just point the stampede in a different direction. (Who do we hate? Oh yes, Bill Maher!)

It is to give cover to Rush Limbaugh.

And it isn’t just Greta. She’s taking orders from somewhere and the fact that they all fall into line and repeat the same talking points is proof. You will rarely run into a social gathering of equals where everyone present sees the same thing and values it in the same manner. Only robots and Faux Nooz™ reporters operate predictably, without the slightest hint of free will.

When you refuse to attend an event because someone there once said things you found offensive, you are a prig and a buffoon.

It is what they say AT the event in question*, and nobody with half a brain believes that Louis C.K. will do any of the raunchier parts of his act with the President and First Lady present.

(*This doesn’t apply for Nazis and Klansmen, of course, but you take my point. We move on.)

The Correspondents’ dinner is the equivalent of all those people in the box seats that John Lennon requested at the Command Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, “you can just rattle your jewelry.” It is, according to everyone who’s done it, an incredibly tough gig in front of an incredibly tough audience. But Greta knows that. The actual buffrontery here is that this buffoonatrice has the effrontery to imply that she’s a “correspondent.”

[* And a correspondent would know to include the full name of the subject of any story they wrote. Greta a correspondent?]

Another Faux “correspondent”

Nothing could be further from the truth. She’s a celebrity infotainer.

And by celebrity, I don’t mean Greta. I mean that she has to have a steady stream of celebrities or her ratings tank. She’s the one what was flew up ter Wasilly Alasker to hang out with Sarah Palin, a fishin’ and a huntin’ and a Laska-in’.

Her husband showed Greta his snowmobile.

I’m sorry Greta that you were offended that Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a “twat,” and that Louis C.K. evidently referred to her “cunt,” or, to quote your very very very selective outrage (from that immortal J’Accuse of Faux Snooze that started us out, EMPHASIS NOT ADDED):

He [Louis C.K.] uses filthy language about women…..yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh.

I refuse to show any support for this guy or for the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner Committee who hired him. I think the organization that hired him is just as bad as he is. It is no secret that he denigrates women.

Here is a sample of what he said about Governor Sarah Palin and you tell me whether any member of the media should sit in the crowd while he speaks to them:

Louis C.K. says of Palin: “her f*** retard making c***” and “the baby that just came out of her f**** disgusting c***.”

To Palin: just “stick your t** in its mouth and shut up.”

And here is more: ”…her f***** retard making c****”

Need more to convince you? Here is what he says on twitter:

“I want to rub my father’s c*** all over Sarah Palin’s fat t***”

By the way, there is more, lots more.

I hope all the other women and men in the media join me in not going.

I also hope everyone has the courage to stand up to this.

Yes. And perhaps, like Gwen Ifill of the PBS Newshour, Louis C.K. will never become controversial again after a well-orchestrated “fake outrage” denunciation and “foxing” — if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

Just remember, Louis C.K.: They don’t grease you up if they ain’t going to f*** you. And after they do. You might feel the need to douche. And if you need a douchebag, look no further than Greta Van Susteren, all full of piss and vinegar.

Such a noble boycott. Such a principled stance.

But if you’re going to call people “pig,” don’t be surprised if people call you a four letter word.

But I’m not gonna do it. I’m not going to do it.

The hell I’m not.

Liar.

Here, I’ll even write a poem to her:

We do not care for Greta’s pyre:
We call her hypocrite, shill and liar.
And though she’d set a blazing fire;
She’s only preaching to the choir.

At the black mass, that is.

Courage.

THIS IS MY 1300th POST, SO – – – SPECIAL BONUS! (8th Blogoversary is Monday):

Here’s how the “token” outrage con works, from April 3rd, 2010, entitled “The Easter Bigots“:

I begin to believe that the “tea partiers” and the new right bears less resemblance to the Ross Perot era of citizen anger than to the second coming of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s.

Klan ‘carpetbagger’ cartoon 1868

A little history. Technically, the first coming of the Klan came in the post war South of the late 1860s and early 1870s. Now, because of the ‘swift-boating’ of President Grant, it is little known that Grant squashed the Klan. He also passed the Civil Rights Act of 1875, which was ruled unconstitutional in 1883, in yet another shameful Supreme Court decision*. [* The Supreme Court, alas, has known more disrepute than repute, in its long and checkered history. Our current SCOTUS is more the rule than the exception.] The racism in the South was allowed to fester after the stolen election of 1876 and becomes another issue that I won’t get into here.

1925 Klan Document

The Second Coming of the Klan was far more ‘catholic‘ in its hatred, and included not merely Blacks, but immigrants — especially “papists” — and on the West Coast, Chinese and Asians. It was free-form hatred, spread from coast to coast:

… supplementing its original anti-black ideology with a new anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic, prohibitionist and antisemitic agenda.

It was a “nativist” movement, noted for its twisted rallying cry of “Americanism.” In other words, White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant ‘Americanism.’ And it became huge in several states not normally associated with Southern racial bigotry. One good example is Oregon, where I live. Wikipedia:

Klan March in Ashland, Oregon, 1920s

In 1921, the Klan arrived in Oregon from central California and established the state’s first klavern in Medford. In a state with one of the country’s highest percentages of white residents, the Klan attracted up to 14,000 members and established 58 klaverns by the end of 1922. Given the small population of non-white minorities outside Portland, the Oregon Klan directed attention almost exclusively against Catholics, who numbered about 8% of the population. In 1922, the Masonic Grand Lodge of Oregon sponsored a bill to require all school-age children to attend public schools. With support of the Klan and Democratic Governor Walter M. Pierce, endorsed by the Klan, the Compulsory Education Law was passed with a majority of votes. Its primary purpose was to shut down Catholic schools in Oregon, but it also affected other private and military schools. A number of states passed Blaine Amendments, which forbid direct government aid to religious schools. [emphasis added]

Ironically, the same bigots today support the use of “vouchers” as a means of destroying public schools and funding the “private” and “religious” schools that have been used to create greater segregation in American schoolsthan existed before Brown v. Board of Education in 1954, DEsegregating American public schools:

… old patterns of segregation persist. A survey of enrollment statistics reveals that, in several important ways, the school segregation Brown was enacted to end more than two generations ago remains a fact of life today, in some parts of the country worse now than it was at the time of the decisions.

This second Klan made common cause with prohibitionists, whose legacy, Prohibition, created the virulent organized crime that has remained an American institution to this very day.

The second Klan was about intolerance: religious intolerance, racial intolerance, ethnic intolerance, and even intolerance of things, like alcohol.

And, of course, there’s nothing like masking YOUR bigotry by screaming about somebody else’s. Yeah, a speaker probably went over the line. (If you were a Palestinian, given their treatment since 1948, you might be pissed off and over the line, too. In fact, if you’re a good American, you probably have very little idea of what the Palestinian side is, because it is almost never presented in American media.)

They hate these kids, evidently

If you try to save the ‘five feet of fury’ page you get the title:

  • five feet of fury. (‘we need another crusade.’).htm

Er, how is that better than “we love jihad”? It’s about the hate. Mark Steyn (who, seemingly, left Canada to lecture Americans on “Americanism”) preaches on Irrational, er, National Review Online:

Genocidal Welfare Queens [Mark Steyn] The Jewish Defence League held a demonstration today in Toronto at Palestine House, one of the many jihadist front organizations without which no sophisticated multicultural western city is complete….

Do I really need to ANALYZE all the hatespeak encapsulated in those thirty-two words? It’s bigotry, pure and simple, hatred of Muslims, hatred of “welfare queens,” hatred of tolerance and those who do not agree with the ever disagreeable Steyn.

Let’s be frank about Steyn: he’s a monster. Any society NOT as liberal and tolerant as ours would squash him like a bug as a potential threat to public order and with good cause. But Steyns are the price we pay for free speech, and that’s a good thing. Ironic that he uses free speech to inveigh against it with the implicit message that these “jihadists” OUGHT to be put down. Never understanding that, were we to adopt that kind of hate and paranoia, he’d be in the queue to the gallows right behind them.

But that doesn’t excuse these Klannish haters and their little festival of universalizing the statements of a few rash statements to ALL Muslims and ALL Palestinians. (And, finally, anyone with whom they disagree.)

Which is the technique that the haters love to use. (See Ta-Nehisi Coates at The Atlantic yesterday). What we are talking about is Klannish intolerance and hatred, all “justified” by the unsupportable comments of a few legitimately angry Palestinians. Racism is merely a part of their poisonous bigotry. And we have seen this over and over again this past year: rage at the slaves for slavery (see “Confessions of a Second Class Citizen” for more), open hatred of the Muslim religion, all Arabs, all Democrats, all “liberals” and its new, toxic formulation, “leftists” — a term formerly reserved for “communist guerillas” like, say, Ché Guevara, or Shining Path in Columbia.

Or the hatred of gays. Or the hatred of athiests.

It’s about the hate. So, as we listen to the bigotry — against undocumented workers that WASP businesses hire, against American and Canadian Muslims, against Arab-American immigrants — don’t you doubt that the second Klan would have been right there with the teabaggers and the reichties.

Foremost among the matters of moment which concern our national welfare is a laxity in devotion to the Godly ideals which once coursed vigorously through our national endeavor. If civilization is to continue to progress; if America is to continue to be a nation purposed by Almighty God to hold aloft the beacon light of truth and liberty, men and women of America must know that the fundamental thing is to recognize divine authority and human responsibility thereto for every action.

We would return to the simple but sublime principles instituted by Christ for guidance of man’s relation to his God, his country, his neighbor and himself. … We have been a homogeneous people in the main, thinking and acting alike, obeying constitutional authority in the interests of the common welfare. Today, our unity is threatened by hordes of immigrants who have sought shelter under our flag. They bring foreign ideas and ideals into our land threatening our unity through a foreign propaganda that is pouring into the hard fibers of our national character. This must be counteracted if we are to remain a united nation of Americans rather than a polyglot mob. — Dr. Hiram Wesley Evans, Imperial Wizard, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, c. 1930

And THAT was the hallmark of the second Klan.

KKK March in Washington 1925

It’s no coincidence that tea party crowds and rightie blogosmearing are overwhelmingly white. Even when they trot out a lone ‘token’ to “prove” that it’s not, as O’Reilly did on Faux Nooz (note the unintended irony of the date):

Well, there were “BLACK Klansmen,” too:

… Even more strangely, the Klan tried to organize an order of Black Protestants, a Klan “Colored division” in Indiana and other states. Despite promises that the new order would have “all the rights of membership” of the White Klan, much preparation went into ensuring that the values of white supremacy would be preserved as the Klan expanded its racial base …

It’s about the hate. And they couldn’t even take a break between Good Friday and Easter. Because bigotry never sleeps.

Courage.

45 Advertisers Kiss Rush Limbaugh Good-By

Saturday, March 10th, 2012

Despite a phoney joke  apology for his words, Rush Limbaugh has lost more than 45 advertisers after calling Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” on his show.

March 8th, 2012 UPDATE:      The tally is now over 50 advertisers who have said goodby to Rush.     On his show today there was 5 and one half minutes of dead air and 78 Public Service Announcements.     Rush’s show last 3 hours and is now making almost nothing in ad dollars for Clear Channel.     Perhaps Clear Channel will discipline Limbaugh while they still have a business model.    Of the 9 paid spots that ran during Limbaugh’s three hours 7 have taken action to se that their spots no longer run on the Rush Show.     When Rush says everything is going great he is lying thru his teeth and he is very practiced at that.

I didn’t need those 45 companies anyway, Clear Channel pays me so its their problem.

Republicans have always been the party of old white men and now they have turned their backs on women completely.     Women make up 52% of the population and they vote.

Here’s a tally of some of the companies that have announced they will not be advertising during Rush’s show, and it now stands at forty-five.       Limbaugh maintains he could not care less.

It was this big

Limbaugh, backed by his biggest corporate supporter, Clear Channel Communications, continues to strike a defiant tone.   Yesterday, he continued to try to deflect criticism of his hateful comments, incredulously suggesting that progressives are to blame for his foul language.

Those who have tried to defend Rush’s comments are having a hard time doing so.   Right wing and soon to be ex Actress Patricia Heaton deleted her Twitter account after coming under fire for repeating conservative pundits’ attacks on Sandra Fluke.   She issued a mea culpa yesterday, claiming that she meant no offense.
Rush’s hate speech is like toxic waste when it comes to the quality of our political discourse.    Limbaugh may have the right to speak his mind, but he does not have the right to monopolize the public airwaves for the purposes of slandering other citizens.   His “show” deserves to be canceled and the sooner the better.

Aside from losing advertisers, Rush’s show is also getting pulled by some radio stations, including WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass. and KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii.

No Women in My Clubhouse

Still Limbaugh is flapping his jaws and calling himself the agreived party.

Rush Limbaugh Breaks Clear Channels Code of Conduct in four major ways and many more according to their company policies.

By keeping Rush Limbaugh gainfully employed attacking minority groups such as: women, African Americans, the poor, the disabled and any group that is not republican a few of their policies have been historically violated by Rush Limbaugh.

If Clear Channel continues to do business by ignoring ethics and basic business practices, they are endorsing his comments that violate there own corporate governance.

The Codes that apply to Rush Limbaugh’s Employment are:

1) Fair Dealing:

We have built a reputation as a trustworthy and ethical member of our community and our industry.   We are committed to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and fairness within our company.

When we fail to negotiate, perform or market in good faith, we may seriously damage our reputation and lose the loyalty of our
customers.    You must conduct business honestly and fairly and not take unfair advantage of anyone through any misrepresentation of material facts, manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, fraud or other unfair business practice.

In this section, Rush Limbaugh does threaten the reputation of advertisers of Clear Channel and clearly forty five of them cancelled their ad buys.

2) Equal Employment and Anti-Harassment

Clear Channel has their own in-house anti-discriminatory policies regarding gender (female) , harassment of their own employees because of : race, sex, religion, (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions ) .

Oddly, Rush Limbaugh can attack a woman (Sandra Fluke)  on the air on Clear Channel’s radio stations on a nationally syndicated show.

However,  their own female employees cannot be harassed or discriminated against for any medical conditions and one would assume that to include the use of birth control pills.

At no time is it mentioned that Rush Limbaugh is excluded from these company policies, and at no time does this document which one would assume an employee had to sign to be employed at Clear Channel does it exempt him from CC’s corporate policies.

Quote:

“We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all our employees and will not tolerate any speech or conduct that is intended to, or has the effect of, discriminating against or harassing any qualified applicant or employee because of his or her race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical or mental disability, veteran status or any characteristic protected by law.

We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment by anyone – managers, supervisors, co-workers, vendors or our customers.    This policy extends to every phase of the employment process, including: recruiting, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, benefits, transfers, discipline and termination, layoffs, recalls, and
company-sponsored educational, social and recreational programs, as applicable.

If you observe conduct that you believe is discriminatory or harassing, or if you feel you have been the victim of discrimination or harassment, you should notify your Employee Relations Specialist or the Employee Hotline immediately.”  End Quote

Obviously, Clear Channel is observing the violations of their own contractual employment agreements with Rush Limbaugh’s statements.

In short, this is pointing out the obvious, in that Clear Channel is aiding and abetting Rush Limbaugh’s attacks on women’s birth control coverage and they are including in the discriminatory practice of harassing women on the air.

Another clause in Clear Channel’s corporate polices includes the promotion of health and safety which one would assume means also “mental health”.

Quote:
“We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions by following all occupational health and safety laws governing our activities.

We believe that management and each and every employee have a shared responsibility in the promotion of health and safety in the workplace.    You should follow all safety laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.    You should immediately report any accident, injury or unsafe equipment, practices or conditions.”

Healthy working conditions?    Healthy practices or conditions?    One wonders how the female employees of Clear Channel feel after one of their fellow employees called an honorable student at Georgetown a “Slut” and a “Prostitute” and got away with it?

Disciplinary Action

“If you violate any provision of this Code, you may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including discharge.

Please be aware that we may seek civil remedies from you and if your violation results in monetary loss to us, you may be required to reimburse us for that loss.     If you are involved in a violation, the fact that you reported the violation, together with the degree of cooperation displayed by you and whether the violation is intentional or unintentional, will be given consideration in our investigation and any resulting disciplinary action.”

Let’s see if Clear Channel can live up to their code of ethics and apply the most appropriate level of recourse to keep their own integrity intact.

To date, Clear Channel has not disciplined Rush Limbaugh, has not discharged him which would be the intelligent course of action, but continue to employ his services.

The damage to the Republican party remains a very key issue and the future of Clear Channel keeping on staff an aged, over-bloated ego, angry announcer who lives in the dinosaur age reflects on their future as a corporation that does not follow codes of ethics in this day and age where integrity means everything.

All the gibberish in this document if not upheld and executed implies the Clear Channel corporation breaks laws, allows harassment, attacks and refuses to satisfy the uproar of the public domain to remove Rush Limbaugh from the airwaves.

You can find more of Clear Channel’s Code of Conduct on their website: ( just empty words from a company with no ethics)

Joe Thinks He’s a Plumer

Ohio’s ‘Joe the Plunger’ gets GOP nod for Congress

A part time Ohio plumber’s helper thrust into national politics during the 2008 presidential campaign has won the Republican nomination in his home state as he makes a bid for Congress.

Joe the Congressman

Samuel Wurzelbacher gained the nickname  “Joe the Plunger”  for embellishing his K a year income to over a quarter of a million dollars and expressing concerns about taxes to then-candidate Barack Obama during a stop to the region.   The Palin/McCain campaign picked Joe up and turned him into a pseudo celebrity.

There were Oh! so many Joes, Joey the hair dresser, Joey bag of donughts, Joe sixpack, Joe the bus driver and Joe the shark.   Palin could spot them all in the crowd and call them out to the amusement of the gathered republican crowds.    McCain was not so good.   He would introduce Joe and discover Joe was at the next campaign stop and not there.   That was how the campaign went for poor old John.

Joe The Plunger

The Toledo-area plumber’s helper defeated Steve Kraus, a Sandusky real estate agent, early Wednesday to grab the GOP nomination in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District.     Ever since 2008 Joe has searched for a way to earn some income.   Joe tried radio, appearing at the opening of Dairy Queens and selling tee shirt featuring his bald dome.   Now Joe has an opportunity to earn 4,000 a year as a congressman and like so many republicans Joe can sleep in his office to save having to pay rent.

He faces an uphill climb in the fall against veteran U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who won the Democratic primary.    The newly drawn district snaking along the Lake Erie shoreline from Toledo to Cleveland tilts toward Democrats.    Joe is hoping Palin will join him on the campaign trail and help him recall his past glory days.

Joe and Sarah are both really smart.

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (born December 3, 1973), is a conservative activist, author, and commentator.  A resident of Holland, Ohio, United States, he gained significant attention during the 2008 U.S. presidential election after he was videotaped questioning then-Democratic candidate Barack Obama about his small business tax policy during a campaign stop in Ohio.  As a part time employee of a plumbing contractor, he was given the moniker “Joe the Plunger.”     The Republican McCain-Palin campaign later applied  ”Joe the Plunger”  as a metaphor for middle-class Americans.     He subsequently published a book about his experiences, and has appeared as a motivational speaker and commentator.   People who have attended his motivational speeches have gained successful employeement on the carnival midways as they cris cross America.

Regarding his statement to Barack Obama about intending to buy the plumbing firm that employed him, Wurzelbacher later said that the idea of buying the company was discussed during his job interview six years prior.   According to MSNBC and Fox News, court records show that Wurzelbacher made ,000 in 2006.   Dun & Bradstreet’s report estimated that A. W. Newell Corporation, the full corporate name, had 0,000 in annual sales and eight employees.   As part of the background on McCain’s use of  “Joe the Plunger,”  several media outlets researched his professional plumbing credentials.   One Toledo Blade article stated, “Mr. Wurzelbacher said he works under Al Newell’s license, but according to Ohio building regulations, he must maintain his own
license to do plumbing work.   He is also not registered to operate as a plumber in Ohio, which means he’s not a plumber.”    “Mr. Joseph [business manager of the local union] said Mr. Wurzelbacher could only legally work in the townships, but not in any municipality in Lucas County or elsewhere in the country.”      Wurzelbacher has
since stated that he is no longer employed at Newell.

ABC News reported on October 16, 2008, that there was a judgment lien against Wurzelbacher for non-payment of ,182 in owed Ohio state income taxes dating to January 2007, but “no action has been taken against him outside of filing the lien.”    Barb Losie, deputy clerk of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, said that “there is a chance [Wurzelbacher] doesn’t know about the lien, unless he did a credit report or was ready to pay his taxes.”   While on Hannity & Colmes, Wurzelbacher stated that he was unaware of the tax lien prior to it being reported in the press, and thought he was being attacked because of his question to Obama.

Joe’s Magic Moment.

Bottom line Joe was a phoney then and he is a phoney now.     Thats the story of Joe the plunger, republican candidate for congress.

Romney Squeaks Ahead in Super Tuesday Results

Mitt Has NO Positions on Anything

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appeared to pull off a narrow win in Ohio on Super Tuesday but lost several other states to challenger Rick Santorum.

The day of 10 primaries and caucuses produced no knockout punch, rather another split verdict that overshadowed Romney’s claim of collecting the most delegates.

Romney remains ahead in the delegate count, and thus the race for the nomination, but any hopes of asserting himself as the inevitable nominee fell short again.

Far from bringing more clarity to the GOP presidential race as some in the party had hoped, Tuesday’s elections gave every candidate cause to keep driving forward.

Cheerfull and Happy Newt

Newt Gingrich won a definitive victory in Georgia. Santorum won in Tennessee, North Dakota and Oklahoma. Ron Paul even posted several second-place finishes.

Romney won Massachusetts, where he served as governor; Virginia, where neither Gingrich nor Santorum qualified for the ballot; and Vermont, Idaho and Alaska.

In Ohio, The Associated Press named Romney the winner early this morning, though some news outlets have not called it yet, and Santorum has not conceded.

Ron Likes Traveling from State to State on Somebody elses dime

Regardless of that outcome, Ohio’s tight race and his defeats elsewhere show continuing vulnerabilities for Romney on both geographic and ideological grounds.

Even with most people operating under the assumption that he remains the most likely GOP nominee, he has nonetheless lost states across several regions.

Just the same, he’s winning. With 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination, Romney has 332 delegates to Santorum’s 139, Gingrich’s 73 and Paul’s 35.

Why the Right is Full of Shite

THE DEVIL [mortified] Señor Don Juan: you are uncivil to my friends.

DON JUAN. Pooh! why should I be civil to them or to you? In this Palace of Lies a truth or two will not hurt you. Your friends are all the dullest dogs I know….

~ George Bernard Shaw – Man & Superman, Act III, “Don Juan in Hell” (1903)

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the douchebag I am about to be uncivil to:

Peter Roff is a contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report. A former senior political writer for United Press International, he is currently a senior fellow at the Institute for Liberty and at Let Freedom Ring, a non-partisan public policy organization. His writing has also appeared on Fox News’ Fox Forum.

Another mental midget of the Right, incapable of serious thought, a walking, squinchy compendium of talking points, bumper stickers and a wasted education, he is the poster boy for all of the right-wing idiocy and hypocrisy that has followed in the wake of the death of Andrew Breitbart.

Time for some fisking, because, really, this is what the entire response of the rabid reich-wing has stood for: imbecility masquerading as martyrdom. Emphasis on “dumb.” To wit(less):

Andrew Breitbart a Pioneer Journalist Who Stood Up to Liberal Media

U.S News and World Report (shame be eternally upon them)
March 1, 2012

The old saying about the weather—everyone talks about it but no one does anything about it—used to also apply to the problem of liberal bias in the establishment media. Lots of conservatives complain about it, many of them even seem to enjoy doing so, but few actually do anything about it.

“Liberal bias in the establishment media” is such a hackneyed piece of garbage that only a brainwashed buffoon would have the effrontery to believe that it actually even MEANT something, but this buffrontery would be unworthy of a baboon. “Establishment”? Like Righties are the “hippies” fighting against “The Man”?

Puhleeze! For all but four of the last 32 years, the GOP has controlled either the White House or one house (minimum) of Congress. Making them the “outsiders”?

The continuing error of the “outsiders” is that what they mistake for “liberalism” is cowed incompetence, which, if one were to reasonably mistake for ANYTHING, it would surely be the non-evidentiary cloud-cuckooland fantasies of the “conservatives.” (And note that to them “liberalism” isn’t an actual ideology, it is merely negative space. If it doesn’t fall on its knees and worship at the false altar of Reagan — which has nothing to do with the actual terms of Ronnie — then it must be “liberal,” which is intoned with a venom formerly reserved for the N-word.)

Get a grip, monkey-boy. If ANY-one is the “establishment” it’s Peter Roff. Got that? Good. We continue (and I am reprinting the entire execrable essay, so that we may treasure every scream of horror as children and women cry “Dear GOD, what is that THING?”):

Andrew Breitbart, who left us early Thursday morning unexpectedly and far too soon, was different. Rather than simply complain, he established something approximating an electronic and social media empire on the Internet that, it needs to be said, changed journalism in America.

No: he didn’t change journalism in America. That’s hyperbolic nonsense. Period. Try again.

It’s not just that Breitbart did it well. He did it with an energy and passion and determination that made him the equal of the left, which even in his death continues to express its hate for him with a passion. As former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld—himself no stranger to controversy—tweeted, “Andrew Breitbart never shied from controversy. He was one of conservatism’s most forceful spokesmen and will be greatly missed.”

Really? His barbarism in “taking out” Anthony Weiner — not through his arguments, but, rather, through the most scrofulous form of electronic peepery — is a) clearly NOT “journalism,” nor b) was his “forceful” arrogation of the podium at Weiner’s resignation announcement anything OTHER than a barbaric display of utter abrogration of civility that no civilized human ought do other than condemn.

He pulled this crap again and again, and no “civilized” person had the good sense to cold-cock the brute. Happily, Ghod took care of that oversight. And quoting Rummy as any sort of “moral” arbiter would seem utterly laughable in light of his decision to abrogate 230 years of American policy and tradition to engage in torture.

Through his various websites and media appearances, Breitbart broke stories. Without him, for example, former Rep. Anthony Weiner might still today be in Congress and on the way to being mayor of New York City. He was ruthless in his pursuit of truth, a rare quality among the left-leaning establishment press, which more often carries the agenda of bigger government forward rather than questioning it.

Anthony Weiner’s only sin was that he stood up to bullies LIKE Breitbart, who had to find some sleazy way to destroy him outside the boundaries of civil discourse or debate, and succeeded, hoping to (along with morons like Mr. Roth) destroy his marriage as well. Merely removing Weiner from the public stage was not enough, and that’s not a “forceful spokesman.” No: that’s being an assassin and a thug — as in “Thugee.

This is so verdantly scrofulous and corrupt that it seems a minor feat to have packed so much blatant, errant psychotic nonsense into a single paragraph.

Scrofulous is precisely the term for it, too: “scrofulous - morally contaminated; “denounce the scrofulous wealth of the times”- J.D.Hart immoral; deliberately violating accepted principles of right and wrong.

“He was ruthless in his pursuit of truth, a rare quality among the left-leaning establishment press” is a grammatical outage (not “outrage”). To hold “ruthlessness” in pursuit of “truth” as a POSITIVE is, in context, a justification for torture, spying and extortion. All of which Breitbart demonstrably engaged in. Again, the means justifying the ends.

This conservative dimbulb seems to believe that the ends justify the means, which entailed falsification and tactics that would make the scumbags at the National Enquirer blanch. Only a mindless hypocrite would embrace this sad, sordid legacy and THEN decry any perceived incivility to the dead  Breitbart as awful and horrible — as the entire Reich-Wing blogosmear has delighted in, from before the moment that rigor mortis actually set in.

They come not to bury Breitbart but to fight the preconceived notion that anyone watching his barbaric, childish bullying tactics, his deceptively-edited tapes, his wanton destruction of lives and careers, and his utter hatred for the “left” — that he engaged in with the feral glee of a hydrophobic dog — and for days now, they have publicly masturbated to their fantasy that all should be properly civil to the dead brute. In the MOST uncivil of terms.

“Breitbart broke stories” is precisely correct, albeit not in the manner that our felching necrophile “journalist” conservative seems to believe.

“which more often carries the agenda of bigger government forward rather than questioning it” is a slur stereotype that is mindlessly accepted by the mindless, but is idiotic to anyone capable of rational thought who does not masturbate to the speeches in Atlas Shrugged.

The trope that “Establishment Liberal Journalists” carry the water for “Big Government” (implicitly because their “liberalism” makes them either willing or unwilling dupes) is sheerest bad science fiction. Like foaming-at-the-mouth TV “prophets” they find justifications for their apocalyptic mentality in every news item, somehow linking it back to the babbling nonsense of a book that no one has ever been able to make heads or tails of. (I speak of Atlas Shrugged and not The Revelation of St. John, since there IS some meaning that can be derived from the latter.)

And now, the pièce de résistance from the pièce de shite writer:

There are others who knew him better, worked with him more closely, and are in a better position to comment on him as a person. His accomplishments as a journalist pioneer, however, are evident for everyone to see. He paved the way for a new generation of conservative writers and pundits, taught many of us how to use social media as an effective communications tool, and, in the end, made a difference. Few of us can probably think of a better epitaph.

They’re evident, all right. But the evidence is that Andrew Breitbart resurrected the ruthless blood-lust of the Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon raider and adopted it to new technology. No student of history, or of ethics or of morality can embrace his modus operandi without abandoning any lessons derived FROM those studies.

If he paved a way then the road he paved was wide and the “good intentions” espoused are those espoused by the first character quoted at the beginning of this essay.

I attempted to be respectful at the demise of Breitbart, but the license it has given his admirers for rapine pillage in the arenas of public discourse abrogate any attempt at respect for the dead. Since ANY dissing of dead Andy would be ramped up and megaphoned from the rafters as the conservative monkeys gleefully threw their feces, the actual display was not surprising, except in the universality and fervency of that flinging.

Which is Andrew Breitbart’s true epitaph. Legitimate journalists everywhere were chary about announcing his death — because Breitbart’s HOAXES were so ubiquitous that no one wanted to be caught in yet another one.  That is the first epitaph.

The second is from morons like this idiot, who have twisted truth, nobility, moral purpose and the very foundations of American democracy into the Roman gladiatorial arena in which the only important spectacle is the death and dismemberment of the contestants, without regard to who they are as PERSONS — only that they are the negatively-defined “liberals” just as Jerry Falwell once defined anyone who didn’t accept HIS reading of the Bible as “secular humanists,” a term coined by that demon-spawn while on his way to worm-food.

Now, Andrew Breitbart is food for the worms, and I doubt seriously that the worms will survive his toxicity any more than the targets of his psychotic hatred did.

The necrophiles at Breitbart’s “media empire” are now reprinting essays on his toxic hatred of the President of the United States, and, thus, civility is no longer in order, as it ceased to be in order after a thousand essays like Mr. Roth’s.

I will not comment on the latest one in THIS essay, save to say that Mr. Breitbart has proven, posthumously, that he was every bit as lousy a drama critic as he was a lousy human being. I leave it to the worms to comment on how tasteful he might be, although I doubt it will be any less so than his reprinted essay, whose opening refrain of purest equine fecal matter I reproduce here:

THE VETTING, PART I: BARACK’S LOVE SONG TO ALINSKY

by Andrew Breitbart

Prior to his passing, Andrew Breitbart said that the mission of the Breitbart empire was to exemplify the free and fearless press that our Constitution protects–but which, increasingly, the mainstream media denies us…

Utter garbage. (Or, as I have noted before: Occam’s Dull Razor tells us:  Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained just as well by stupidity. See “At the Mountains of Madness,” which applies here, as well).

Let us conclude, instead, with Mr. G.B. Shaw, who has written a better epitaph for Mr. Breitbart than could I or Mr. Peter Roth:

Nothing would flatter him more than your opinion of him. He loves to think of himself as bold and bad. He is neither one nor the other: he is only a coward. Call him tyrant, murderer, pirate, bully; and he will adore you, and swagger about with the consciousness of having the blood of the old sea kings in his veins. Call him liar and thief; and he will only take an action against you for libel. But call him coward; and he will go mad with rage: he will face death to outface that stinging truth. Man gives every reason for his conduct save one, every excuse for his crimes save one, every plea for his safety save one; and that one is his cowardice. [ibid.]

For in the end, Breitbart was not a swaggering bully, nor some great innovator. No: in the end he was and remains a coward.

He should enjoy his new domicile in Hell very much, I believe.

Courage.
