The newest music genre out there termed Tumblr-Wave is sure to make many grown ups out there give up entirely on trying to stay hip to what their kids are Listening to. Tumblr-Wave is so named since its lyrics resemble a microblog such as the ones found on the popular website Tumblr. It’s a mixture of rap and electronic music created by teenagers on Youtube. These music videos contain many references to pop culture and are generally titled to draw in as many clicks as possible, with such titles as “Ok Cupid” and “Justin Bieber” used for movies by a recently popular artist known as Kitty Pryde (no relation to the X-Men personality).
Tumblr-Wave has received some criticism from parents over the lyrics of a number of of the artists.
